The Challenge

A newly established team, five women and eight men, four nationalities and three generations, making the rules of their operations as they were going. They wanted to get to know each other better and work more effectively together. The Creating a StrengthsBased Culture approach using the SDI profiling tools, had already been proven as an effective method in other departments of the organisation and so they decided to use this to strengthen their team.

Initial workshop Team, Communication & Diversity -Power of SDI had be completed9 months earlier by the team. A few changes and additions to the team meant they were ready to go deeper this time and so the objective of the 1-dayworkshop, Personal Accountability - Personal Power, was to understand how we use and misuse our strengths and how to better manage the strengths we have so that each member of the team can be more successful and the team even stronger. This included:

  • Develop greater self-awareness by understanding own behaviour and under what conditions it leads to success
  • Consciously expand behavioural choices and choose the right behaviour for the right situation
  • Achieve higher level of social intelligence by understanding the impact unproductive behaviour has on them and others
  • Have a more positive impact and influence on others more of the time
  • Increase co-operation by respecting and utilising the strengths of others
  • Be able to more easily adapt to any situation and relationship and feel good about it

The Result

100% said the workshop would help them to improve in their role
15% increasein ability to understand how their behaviours could have a negative impact on others
12% increasein being able to adjust their behaviour to different people
